New Music Format to Carry Content along with Song
MusicDNA is a new file format which can carry 32GB worth of extra information about the music and also has the facility of updating the content whenever any new information is available about the song.
The credit for creating this music file format goes to a Norwegian developer who had earlier backed the German researcher credited with development of the mp3. With this type of reputation MusicDNA promises to be an extremely user-friendly format.
Dagfinn Bach, the creator of MusicDNA was recently at a music conference. Speaking about his creation, he pointed out that apart from allowing the user to carry extra information it also gives them the freedom to update the information. Thus whenever a user gets connected to the internet he or she can automatically update any content chosen. This content may include new information about the song or it may be a special interview of the singer anything that is available and is of interest to the user.
The formal launch will be early this year and a full-fledged roll out of the same is scheduled in summer. MusicDNA may face competition from iTunes LP launched by Apple. The iTunes LP can also carry extra content apart from the song but is yet to receive the backing of any music label of repute. Thus MusicDNA may have to wait for some time before it becomes popular with music lovers.
