Honor Cord and Colors

An honors cord made of twisted cord with fringes. It’s awarded not only to members of honors society but also for various academic and non-academic achievements awards. Actually cords approach in pairs with a tie in the heart to hold them together. Occasionally, Sashes, stoles, or pendant are given in place of cords. Mainly it wire with cap and gown and sometimes with the hood in academic ceremonies and functions as like, high school or university degree candidates. Traditionally they may be worn more than one cord at the same time.

There are various colours of honor cord. They are black, red, white, gold, old gold, silver, brown, cardinal, copper, navy blue, light blue, purple, drab, lilac, maize, maroon, and forest, orange, pink and so on. Honor cords are also available in double or triple colour combinations. The real use of Black honor cords is during commencing ceremonies. Black is frequently cautious dependably smart. Black is used to specify a degree in Labor Relations, Commerce, Business Education, Accounting, Commercial Science, AND Business Administration.

Red colors symbolize heat and fire. Red honor cord is used to specify a degree in discipline of Conservation, Divinity, Journalism, Canon Law, Communications, Forestry, Public Health, Music and Theology. Actually use of silver honor cords is also in commencing ceremonies. The silver show in English heraldry is purity, brightness, virtue, or innocence. Silver is frequently related with the moon.
